Tumbler Table Runner
What to do with the leftover tumblers? Use them to make a table runner! I took all my leftover tumbler blocks from my baby quilt, and pieced them into three rows. I then couldn’t resist using some of the coordinating border print to add a strip of tulips to the sides.
Aren’t the tulips darling?
I then raided my batting leftovers in true stash-busting fashion. I used a poly batting that I’ve had sitting there for some time. I use cotton batting 90% of the time, so I’m not sure where this came from, but it worked!
I do like the high-loft look that it gives. It’s so fluffy, I’m gonna die! (Name that movie!)
I used up more of that border print on the back.
There wasn’t much left after cutting out the backing and the tulip strips for the front, but I had just enough of the thin yellow strips for binding. I had to make my strips narrower than usual (2″ strips), being careful to cut so that the black edges would be hidden in the seam allowance. It was truly a stash busting project!
It turned out really cute and only took me a few hours to make it all. My fur baby photobombed this shot. I was trying to convince him to come out from the table so that I could take a picture, but clearly, I was unsuccessful!
Happy quilting, friends!
