NICU Quilts #1 and #2
Well folks, I’m knee-deep into my NICU quilt project and I’m totally hooked. Seriously, I love the instant gratification of tiny quilts, especially when it’s for a good purpose. So far, I’ve completely finished two premie quilts, and I have two more already started. My scraps are diminishing!
I showed you the start of my colorful HST quilt two weeks ago, and now its all wrapped up! I’m not usually a machine binder, but I thought that was the right choice for a regularly washed product. I always have trouble with it, so I came up with a process that works for me. I’m sure I’m not the only one to do it, but if you’d like a tutorial, let me know!
By this point, my Misawa friends are probably getting sick of me using them for my blog (photography skills, and models), but my sweet friend Jenny was kind enough to let me use her adorable kiddos for some photos.
How cute is this little man?
Phew, it passed inspection in both the sitting and laying position. Hey there, Connor!
Connor’s big sister, Abby, showed off my scrappy disappearing 9-patch NICU quilt made from a collection of my leftover fabrics.
Admittedly, I think she’s having more fun showing off her jellies!
Soaking up some sun…
..and wind!
They were such great sports!
These quilts will be washed and then packaged up and mailed once I have enough quilts to fill a box. I don’t have a specific number in mind, but I’m going to keep plugging away. If you’re interested in making a NICU quilt too, I definitely recommend it. They’re so fun and easy!
