NICU Quilt #3: Kiss Kiss
I’ve been keeping extra busy here in Japan by traveling, visiting with friends and studying the language. I am constantly learning and inspired by our host country’s kindness!
Of course, there is still plenty of time for sewing so this week I’ve finished up my third quilt for my NICU quilt project. See this post for more info on my motivation: NICU project inspiration.
I’m channeling my inner girly girl here! I know these are Valentine’s Day prints (from the great Kiss Kiss Collection for Moda), but I’m hoping it can be used year round.
I had just enough charm squares left in my stash to make a simply patchwork quilt.
I used every last scrap to make a pieced backing. I really love the lip print!
All of these fabrics were left over from my Love Notes Table Runner I made for my Mother-in-law.
I always like to compare how different or similar quilts can look when made from the same fabric collection.
The last bits of the polka dot print worked perfectly for the binding.
I think I have two charms left from both quilts – I call this a scrap busting success!
Here’s my sister with one of the little men she cares for. So sweet!
She’s looking forward to using the quilts to snuggle her precious babies.
