Modern Triangle Quilt
As promised here is a view of my first modern quilt!
I’m really happy with how it turned out – I just love the boldness of the solids! They remind me of board game pieces (the little Sorry! pieces in particular). My dream home has a room dedicated for fun activities with friends and family. I envision the walls to be decorated with classic game boards and a big table perfect for board games and puzzles. I might even let my husband add a pool table or dart board! 🙂
Sidebar aside, this quilt top was fairly easy to assemble. I changed the pattern a bit to assemble the blogs using paper piecing for improved accuracy but the final look remained as the designer intended.
Despite the modern arrangement of the fabrics, I think that solids have a very timeless feel and I hope that all of my creations can last several generations. One of the advantages or disadvantages (depending on your point of view) of solids is that they make the quilting a prominent part of the design. I just love the beauty that quilting can add to the quilt but being a novice, it also terrifies me.
Next step: get over my fear and quilt the quilt!
