Disappearing 9-Patch Baby Quilt
I told you a few weeks ago, that I purchased Craftsy’s Creative Quilting With Your Walking Foot for some quilting inspiration. One of the things I found particularly interesting was quilting with those specialized stitches built into your machine, so I decided to give it a try.
I made a disappearing 9-patch baby quilt at least a year ago and its been sitting waiting for me to quilt until….this weekend!
I lengthened a zig-zag stitch on my machine considerably and got to stitching. In case you’re looking for the details, its stitch number 8 on my Janome, with a stitch width of 5.0 and 3.5 length.
I really do like the fluidity and density that the stitching makes.
Until….the stitch slowly stretched the previously perfectly square quilt. Eek!
My lovely Instagram friends suggested spray basting to limit this issue. I’ll have to try that next time!
Even though there’s a bit of warping, I’m sure this will be perfect for a little baby boy. Recipient yet to be determined!
