Christmas Tumbler Table Runner
Helllloooooo! I apologize for the long absence from the blog. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’ve been very busy on several projects. The first is this fun Christmas table runner for my Mom.
I had picked up a charm pack from the Folk Art Christmas Collection after my Mom had mentioned she liked the fabric line, but I didn’t have a specific project in mind. One of my favorite things to watch while quilting is the Missouri Star Quilt Company YouTube Channel, usually hosted by Jenny Doan. She is one of the most inspiring and fun people, and when I saw her tutorial for a tumbler table runner made using a charm pack, I was inspired. You can find the video here.
I have Missouri Star Quilt Company’s tumbler ruler that conveniently fits the charm pack with very little waste. It only took me a few hours to cut and piece the entire top. Easy and so cute!
I started quilting without a clear plan other than wanting to echo the tumbler with my walking foot. After doing that, I thought it needed a bit more definition so I put on my free-motion foot and added some wiggly lines in the white sections.
Much better!
I finished it up with a little squiggle in the white border and a stipple in the gray border.
After putting on a binding that I didn’t like, I ripped it off and finished it off with some leftover white fabric for a much cleaner look that I’m now happy with.
All finished! It will be off to Mom soon to fill her home with a little more Christmas cheer!
