Charm Star Table Topper
It’s Christmas gift crunch time! I’m finishing up my last few projects for this years presents. Phew! Anyone else feel overwhelmed with their list of homemade Christmas goodies? Every year I tell myself that I should start earlier but it doesn’t ever seem to happen. The holidays just always seem to creep up on me. That’s especially true here while we’re still enjoying beautiful 70 degree days!!
I haven’t been able to share any of my projects on social media (why is that so hard?!) but this time we can make an exception. This little gifty is for my grandmother-in-law and since she’s not an internet user, I don’t think she’ll stumble across my post!
My mother-in-law kindly helped me find some prints that matched my grandmother-in-law’s kitchen decor . This certainly isn’t my normal color palette but its growing on me. I love this little collection of floral prints!
I decided to repeat a design I’ve seen in a number of different places. This cute little star is perfect for use with charm squares! I’ve seen it sewn together to make a wonky star, but this week I’m digging the exact and precise points.
I made 4 9-patches and before the daylight was gone, I had a cute table topper!
I went with my all time favorite quilting technique – the stipple. Lets all thank the quilting gods that the stipple works perfectly with every design. amen.
The little project only took me one day to make, including the hand binding. Maybe I’ll make myself one someday….after Christmas!
I can’t wait to give my grandmother-in-law her charm star table topper. Soon!
