Kindred – Finished!
Its a miracle. I made a quilt, from start to finish without getting distracted by other projects.
How, you ask? Well two reasons:
1 – Bonnie and Camille’s fabrics are too cute not to play with. If I were limited to making quilts with just one designer’s fabrics for the rest of my life, theirs would definitely be in the running.
2 – My second Frivols box has already been shipped. I don’t want to get behind!
Without further ado, here is Kindred:
I really did enjoy making this quilt. The blocks required accurate piecing in order to keep the blocks perfectly square. The scant quarter-inch seam was a must!
I accidentally miss-cut when I was cutting a few of the prints out. As with many precut quilts, there wasn’t enough extra fabric to recut so I had to get creative. Those few blocks have a couple extra seams – oops!
I ordered the finishing kit from the Fat Quarter Shop which came with the backing and binding that I needed for the quilt. It came with about double the amount of fabric that I needed for the backing so you’ll be seeing more of this cute floral!
