2015 Wrap Up
What a great year it’s been! This year started with our first overseas move, packing up our home in Phoenix, Arizona…
…and moving to beautiful Misawa, Japan.
I stayed busy sightseeing and becoming engrossed in the local on and off base community. I did a lot of english teaching/volunteering with our city’s international center.
We had fun trying as many unique Japanese traditions as we could – including wading in a foot-high pool to catch large salmon by hand!
The hardest part of the year was sending my husband off on his first deployment soon after moving to Japan. Of course, that made his homecoming one of the most special moments of the year. I had learned so much about Japanese culture during his absence so I was excited to share everything I’d learned with him.
Of course, I quilted! I didn’t make quite as many projects as last year, but I still had a busy year. There were a few big projects, most notably Moda’s Modern Building Blocks Quilt. However, a majority of my projects were small. I made a handful of quilts to be sent off to the NICU where my sister works, and several for friends that has new babies this year. Those are my favorite quilts to make!
