Love Notes: A Valentine’s Day Table Runner
Hello cute friends! I have the most adorable Valentine’s Day table runner to share with you today.
It’s also the last of my Christmas gifts to family members. Phew – Only took me a few weeks to post about them all!
Let’s start with the fabric. Moda has seriously the cutest fabric of all time and then Kiss Kiss collection by Abi Hall is no exception. I picked up a charm pack and a some extra yardage from the collection and then added some Kona White from my stash.
I used all those goodies to make these great little Valentine’s Day envelopes! This design was liberally inspired by Jenny Doan’s Love Notes quilt from the Missouri Star Quilt Company’s YouTube channel. You can find the video here.
I used one charm square of print and one 5″ square of white for each block. Using the magic method for making each HST made the process come together in no time!
Jenny’s pattern called for the bottom of the envelope to be in one print, and the top in a different print but I played around with different options and I liked keeping one print for each envelope. That seemed a little more cohesive to me!
Seriously, are these not the sweetest fabrics?! I thought the lips were perfect for the back. mwah!
I even added two extra blocks on the back for a special label.
To Kim, From me! I don’t always remember but I do like sewing the label into the backing. It makes the process so much easier (and permanent)!
Of course…the binding has to be cute too. I thought the pink and red polka dot print was just perfect for this bright and cheery quilt.
Are you making anything for Valentine’s Day?
