HST Tutorial: Eight at a Time Method
This is week three of our series on tackling the infamous half square triangle!
We’re on a roll! This week, we’re exploring a technique for making 8 half square triangles at a time.
Look at that! You made 8 HSTs all at once with no problem!
On to the math. Just like the charts we saw during the last two weeks, the first two columns show the finished and unfinished HST sizes. The third column shows the starting squares cutting sizes with no waste, while the final column gives squares that are slightly oversized and require trimming. If you need help with trimming, check back at the first post in this series.
Don’t forget that our series includes four other methods for making HSTs without special tools if this one doesn’t speak to you.
November 11th – Drawn Line Method
November 18th – The Magic Method
November 25th – The Eight at a Time Method (you’re here!)
December 2nd – The Strip Tube Method
December 9th – The Bias Strip Method
